Dr. Hans-Jörg Clement is Head of the Cultural Department of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and curator and managing director of the Else-Heiliger-Fonds EHF 2010 for the promotion of young artists.
With a doctorate in philology, he is concerned with developments in contemporary art and is a member of various juries and committees, including the Acquisitions Commission for the Contemporary Art Collection of the Federal Republic of Germany from 2006 to 2012 and the board of Villa Aurora / Thomas Mann House Los Angeles.
He has set up numerous solo exhibitions in Berlin. In 2013 he was part of the curatorial team of the exhibition Nur hier (Only Here) at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and in 2015 he was one of the curators of CheckpointCalifornia at the Deutsche Bank KunstHalle. In 2018, he curated the show Spuren im Raum.
