Leila El-Amaire studied law in Berlin and also works as a freelance consultant for film and theater. She worked as a program manager in the field of “Artists at Risk” at the Allianz Cultural Foundation (now: Allianz Foundation), where she was responsible for the “Re:Writing the Future 2021” festival. As co-founder of i,Slam e.V., she worked for many years as a project manager, trainer and slam poet on the topics of Anti-Muslim racism, empowerment, intersectionality and feminism. She has worked a lot with young people in schools and youth clubs and has given workshops on topics such as creative writing and stage performance. She was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2020 for her voluntary work to date.
